PREFACE

I have had much help in writing this book from many B.B. men and women at Brigade House in London and in Glasgow and throughout the Movement. In particular I must mention the constant encouragement given me by John M. Leggit (former Secretary of the Glasgow Battalion), John R Edbrooke, (Secretary for Development), Muriel D. Ellis (Brigade archivist) and the Brigade Secretary, Alfred Hudson.

This book is but a glimpse of the Movement which was and is 'First for Boys'.

It is sent out with good wishes to the Movement of which I am proud to be a member.
